Mildred A. Gilbert, 92, of Bradenton, formerly of St. Petersburg,
died Aug. 31.
Mrs. Gilbert came to Florida from Long Island,
N.Y., in 1965, and moved to Bradenton two years ago after
living in New Port Richey and St. Petersburg. She grew
up in Queens, N.Y., and worked at Grumman Aircraft
during World War II. After retirement, she and her husband were members
of the U.S. Coast Guard Flotilla 716 in Gulfport and the Czechoslovakian-American
Services were Sept. 4 in Largo.

was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles
F., and her first husband, John M. Young, who was killed
during World War II while serving in the U.S. Navy. She is survived
by son Roy and his wife Kathy; daughter Gail Straight and her husband
Ed of Bradenton Beach; six grand children; and 10 great-grandchildren.
