Building official, finally, for Bradenton Beach
A building official, part time and apparently short-term, has finally been retained by Bradenton Beach.
Edmund J. McAdam began work last Friday in the city. He replaces Bob Welch, who left the city's employ last January, as well as Holmes Beach and Manatee County officials, which have been filling in for inspection duties as the city sought a permanent person for the post.
McAdam will work up to 30 hours per week. He is a former engineer with the Manatee County Public Works Department, where he has worked in various capacities since 1986. He is a nationally certified building official and holds a Florida Standard Building Code Administrator license.
Charles K. Edwards, who had previously accepted the position, withdrew his candidacy Oct. 27.
