July 15, 500 block Pine Avenue, theft. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office investigated the report of a theft by unknown persons who removed bicycles from outside the complainant’s condo.
July 15, 427 Pine Ave., Beach Bum Billy’s Rentals, theft. MCSO investigated a report that someone stole a tandem bicycle from the porch at the store.
July 9, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, theft. Someone stole an unlocked bicycle from outside a residence.
Bradenton Beach
July 18, Coquina Beach access road, unregistered vehicle, suspended license. Bradenton Beach police officers arrested a 28-year-old Ruskin man for allegedly failing to have proper vehicle registration. An officer had observed the man’s Chevy on a Coquina Beach access road with an unreadable tag. The vehicle was stopped and the officer learned that the vehicle was not registered and the driver’s license was suspended.
July 15, 2513 Gulf Drive, Circle K, trespass. Bradenton Beach police responded after someone used a pay phone to dial 911 and then hung up. Police found a male and a female outside the store and, according to the report, both appeared intoxicated. The female received a trespass warning after allegedly becoming loud and disruptive in the store.
Holmes Beach
July 13, 3300 block of Gulf Drive, lewd activity. The Holmes Beach Police Department responded to a report of possible lewd activity - two males and a female beside the road making “lewd” motions toward vehicles, including one auto that contained a young girl. An officer found three suspects who appeared intoxicated and noted that the two male suspects were “wearing a very tight thong-type bathing suit.” The officer warned the trio that if they engaged in lewd activity witnessed by a child, they could be arrested as sexual offenders. The three also were told that alcohol is not permitted on the beaches.
July 14, 7100 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A woman reported that someone stole her bicycle from a bike rack.
July 15, 4200 Gulf Drive, suspended license. Police pulled over a driver who allegedly made an illegal left turn. The officer then found that the woman driver had a suspended license.
July 17, 5353 Gulf Drive, TimeSaver, trespass. Police responded to a complaint of a man drinking inside the store and gave him a trespass warning at the request of the clerk.
July 17, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, trespass. A woman reported to police that she was at the beach with her children when she observed a man in a pickup truck who seemed to be watching her family. She said that she thought he was possibly fondling himself. Police then found a man in a truck at the playground, who said he was reading a newspaper. He was issued a trespass warning and “advised not to return.”
July 19, 5410 Marina Drive, D.Coy Ducks, trespass. The police department responded to a report of a fight at the bar. The officer saw two people running from the location. They were stopped and, at the request of the bar, one person was issued a trespass warning for “being rude and obnoxious” to other patrons.
July 19, 5353 Gulf Drive, TimeSaver, burglary, criminal mischief. Police responded to an alarm at the store and found the front door had been shattered. A videotape showed two males throwing a rock through the door, then climbing over the counter and taking about 10 packs of cigarettes. Acording to the report, the suspects wore T-shirts over their heads and gloves or socks on their hands. |
