9 a.m. to noon Sarasota Bay Estuary Program is conducting Bay-wise, a series of kayak tours from various points in the area. One tour leaves Coquina Park Bayside in Bradenton Beach for Leffis and Jewfish keys. Information: 475-0796. Fee applies.

5:30 p.m. A teen-focused talk about skateboarding takes place with V-Town Skate and Surf Shop owner Aaron Howard at the Island Branch Library, 5701 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach. Information: 941-778-6341.

6 p.m. The Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce holds a ribboncutting at Creative Native T-shirt shop at Palm Avenue and Gulf Drive in Anna Maria. Information: 941-778-1541.

1 p.m. Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee County holds a support group for family caregivers at the Island Branch Library, 5701 Marina Drive. Information: 941-748-3001.

8:30 a.m. The Kiwanis Club of Anna Maria Island meets for a program and a breakfast at Cafe on the Beach at Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach. Information: 941-778-7823.

The museum, the Bishop Planetarium and Parker Manatee Aquarium are celebrating the birthday of Snooty the Manatee, as well as hosting the Wildlife Awareness Festival. Information: 941-746-4131.

  • On the second Saturday of each month, the U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 82 holds a “GPS for Mariners Course” at 10 a.m. at the Mote Marine Keating Center. Information: 941-358-2068.
