A spate of recent thefts in Anna Maria Island retail stores could be the work of the same two women, and Island law enforcement officials want store clerks and owners to take precautions.
The man police identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of Islander Sabine Musil-Buehler was sentenced May 14 on an unrelated charge to 13.5 years in prison.
The Anna Maria City Commission had a good solution to a number of issues presented at its May 14 meeting by city planner Alan Garrett. Send them to the planning and zoning board for study.
