Part-time job draws more than 300 applicants
Anna Maria city clerk Alice Baird and Mayor Fran Barford got more than they bargained for when they advertised for a part-time, as-needed administrative clerk.
More than 300 applications were submitted.
Baird said the list was narrowed to five applicants and those selected will undergo a few days training in the next several weeks.
The idea is to have a list of “on-call” assistants to use when full-time staff are sick, on vacation or take time off, said Baird.
