City clerk recovering after surgery
Bradenton Beach city clerk Nora Idso remains on medical leave at city hall. She is recovering from surgery she underwent earlier this month.
Earlier this year, Idso suffered what appeared to be a seizure at city hall. She learned as a result of that emergency that she needed to undergo surgery.
People who inquire at the clerk’s office about Idso’s absence learn that they can send cards to city hall. So too can readers. City hall’s mailing address is 107 Gulf Drive N., Bradenton Beach FL 34217.
City officials declined to discuss details about when Idso might return to work. They did, however, emphasize that she has seemed eager to get back to city hall.
On April 16, during a regular meeting of the city commission, the board approved a proclamation for Municipal Clerks Week, observed in early May.
The proclamation, signed by Mayor Michael Pierce, stated that the office of the municipal clerk is “a time honored and vital part of local government” and that the clerk “provides the professional link between the citizens, the local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels.”
