Anna Maria City

March 11, 800 block North Shore Drive, theft. The complainants said that while bicycling they stopped at the beach and someone took his wallet, containing identification and credit cards.

 

Bradenton Beach

Feb. 22, Coquina Beach, violation of probation, community control. Officers responded to a complaint of panhandling at the beach. Upon record checks of the two suspects, it was determined that one of the men had an outstanding felony warrant. He was arrested and both were issued trespass warnings.

March 2, 200 block Gulf Drive, no driver’s license. Officers observed a driver swerving in traffic. The driver was stopped, and it was determined he did not have a valid driver’s license. He was arrested and the vehicle towed.

March 7, Coquina Beach, child abuse. Officers in the park at closing observed two juveniles and a driver in a pickup truck. Three open containers of beer were found in the car. Michael David Bishop, 41, of Ruskin, a registered sexual offender, was arrested. Parents of the juveniles were called and they were taken home.

 

Holmes Beach

March 9, 4000 Gulf Drive, Cafe on the Beach, trespass. The complainant said a man previously issued a trespass warning was back at the beach. He was arrested.

March 9, 5801 Marina Drive, criminal mischief. The complainant said someone had hung a banner on the sign to the butterfly park, causing approximately $500 in damage.

March 11, 4000 Gulf Drive, Cafe on the Beach, criminal mischief. The complainant said someone damaged three vending machines at the beach. Damage was estimated at $900.

March 11, 500 block Bayview Drive, fraud. The complainant said someone had made $150 in unauthorized charges on his credit card.

March 11, 3902 Gulf Drive, West Coast Surf Shop, shoplifting. Owners reported a woman took a bathing suit from the store without paying for it. She was located, the suit found and placed in evidence, and she was arrested.

March 11, 3700 Gulf Drive, hit and run. A vehicle was found to have left the road, drove through landscaping and then a fence before it struck a parked dump truck. The driver called police the next day, said another vehicle had swerved toward her while she was driving and caused the crash. The driver was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

March 11, 3300 block East Bay Boulevard, theft. The complainant said someone took two bicycles.

March 12, 3246 East Bay Blvd., Old Hamburg, trespass. The complainant said a customer at the restaurant ordered a beer, said he could not pay for it, and walked out. The suspect was found in an intoxicated state by officers, according to the report, lying in the mud. He was issued a trespass warning to the restaurant and taken to Manatee Glens for assistance.

March 13, 5800 Marina Drive, drugs. Officers conducted a traffic stop and observed the vehicle had tinted windows that exceeded the allowed light transmittance levels. Officers also noticed the scent of marijuana on the driver, Anthony E. Rosas, 20, of Anna Maria, and the drug was found in the vehicle, as well as a prescription drug which he said belonged to the vehicle’s owner. Rosas was issued a citation.
