Obituary
Jackson D. Gray Memorial services for Jackson D. Gray will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at the Anna Maria City Pier. The memorial will be held by the Branard Masons Lodge of Bradenton.
Mr. Gray, 89, of Anna Maria, died Nov. 30.
Born in New London, Conn., Mr. Gray came to Manatee County from Seminole, Fla., in 1977. He was a ships officer in the Merchant Marine. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Waterford, Conn.
He is survived by niece Dorothy Wickenheiser of North Redington Beach, Fla.; and nephews George Holmes and Sidney Holmes, both of Connecticut.
Betty Krueger
Betty Krueger, 80, of Holmes Beach, died Dec. 11.
Born in Woodland, Mich., Mrs. Krueger came to Manatee County from Sebring, Fla., in 1986. She was a retired telephone operator with Michigan Bell. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Harvey Memorial Community Church, Bradenton Beach.
Visitation was Dec. 14. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Island Chapel, 6000 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach. Committal service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg FL 33742, or to the American Lung Association, 1436 Royal Palm Square Blvd., Fort Myers FL 33919.
She is survived by husband John C. "Jack;" daughter Carol Wenzel of Douglasville, Ga.; sons Bill of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jack C. of Potter Springs, Ga.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Vivian P. Letendre
Vivian P. Letendre, 89, of Bradenton, died Dec. 5.
Mrs. Letendre came to Manatee County from Manchester, N.H., in 1970. She was a volunteer at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by daughter Jeanne Roberts of Bradenton Beach.
Margaret H. Stertzer
Margaret H. Stertzer, 78, of Bradenton and formerly Holmes Beach, died Dec. 6.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Stertzer moved to Holmes Beach in 1971. She was a real estate associate with Hendricks Real Estate before her retirement. She was a graduate of William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y., and worked as a part-time substitute teacher in Bergen County, N.J. She was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Holmes Beach. She was involved with quilt making at the church for Lutheran World Relief and meal preparations for ill church members. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels at Blake Medical Center.

She is survived by son Andrew III; daughters Linda Perrey, Heather Smith, and Arielle Mikkelson; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |
