Nov. 20, battery, 407 Magnolia Ave., Anna Maria Island Community Center. According to the report, the defendant became upset at an official's ruling in a flag football game and became verbally abusive. As he was being ejected from the game, he "punched the athletic director in the face, then fled the scene," according to the report.
Bradenton Beach
Nov. 21, burglary, 2500 block Avenue C. The complainant said her truck had been burglarized, breaking the turn signal, steering column and taking several items from the bed.
Nov. 24, domestic violence, Coquina Beach Park. The complainant said her ex-boyfriend approached her and a friend at the park. She said she has an injunction against his approaching her. When officers arrived, they saw a man running through the park. After a brief chase, the man was eventually apprehended with assistance from marine rescue personnel. After a struggle that involved officers using pepper spray, the man was arrested and charged with violating an injunction and transported to jail.
Nov. 26, warrant arrest, 300 block 57th Street. While assisting Holmes Beach officers, a man was found sleeping behind a van in the driveway. A records check revealed the man had an outstanding warrant from Pinellas County and was taken to jail.

Nov. 19, burglary, criminal mischief, 100 block 48th Street. The complainant said that sometime between Hurricane Charley and this date someone had entered his garage and taken tools valued at $1,522.
Nov. 21, resisting arrest without violence, 200 block Peacock. Officers responded to a complaint about a loud party. While approaching a group of people, an officer observed what appeared to be a marijuana pipe in the hands of one man. The suspect broke free and ran away. Officers were able to apprehend him, but the pipe was not located and the man charged with resisting arrest.
Nov. 22, DUI, 500 Manatee Ave. Officers noticed a vehicle with an expired license tag traveling erratically. After a field sobriety check, officers arrested Anthony Wayne Bradford, 30, of Bradenton, on charges of DUI and driving with an expired tag.
Nov. 25, warrant arrest, 6900 Marina Drive. After a routine traffic stop, it was determined that one of the people in the car had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on grand theft charges from Manatee County. He was taken to jail.
Nov. 26, drug charges, 2300 block Gulf Drive. Officers, on a routine traffic stop, charged one woman on an outstanding probation violation from Hillsborough County. Another passenger in the vehicle, after a search, admitted that marijuana found in the car was his, and officers charged Charles H. Lowe, 19, of Valrico, with possession of marijuana.
Nov. 26, shoplifting, 3900 East Bay Drive, Publix. Officers were called after an assistant store manager saw a man shoplifting, leaving the store with a full cart of meats and beer. The manager stopped the man, who said he had to go get his food stamps. The man left the cart on the sidewalk and ran from the parking lot. Officers searched for the man to no avail.
Nov. 27, shoplifting, 3900 East Bay Drive, Publix, shoplifting. The store manager called officers after observing a man stuff a bottle of wine down the front of his shorts. The man was issued a trespass warning. |
