Nov. 9, 100 block of Hammock Road, fraud/grand theft. A resident reported that he paid a contractor more than $3,000 for materials to repair his roof and hasn't been able to contact the contractor since.
Nov. 10, 700 block of Holly Road, grand theft/criminal mischief. According to the report, a resident entered into a contract to have some flooring work done. The suspect allegedly removed some household furniture and accepted payment for materials and work and hasn't returned to complete the job.
Nov. 10, 10101 Gulf Drive, Bistro at Island's End, grand theft. Two insulated boxes used to transport food were reportedly removed from behind the restaurant.
Bradenton Beach
Nov. 12, 100 block of Eighth Street, domestic battery. According to the report, a woman alleged she was placed in a headlock and choked by her boyfriend when she refused to get off the computer and spend time with him.
Nov. 13, 100 block of Seventh Street, theft. According to the report, two neighbors suspected a third neighbor of stealing from them. One man reported a bracelet and necklace valued at $1,000 missing from his home and the other neighbor reported a blank check and $1,200 in cash missing. Both victims suspected a neighbor who frequently visits their home. According to the report, the suspect was questioned and admitted to stealing the cash and checks. The missing jewelry was also recovered after it was found in a pair of pants the suspect admitted owning and he was arrested.
Nov. 14, 110 Gulf Drive, Moose Lodge, domestic battery. According to the report, a woman was given a domestic violence packet after she reported that her fiance pushed her to the ground during a minor disagreement.
Holmes Beach
Nov. 5, 3007 Gulf Drive, Anchor Inn, disturbance. A man was given a verbal trespass warning after the bartender asked the patron to leave. According to the report, the man was causing problems with other customers and was asked to leave several times. When he refused to leave the bartender reportedly pushed him out the door, causing him to fall and cut his head. According to the report, emergency medical services responded and advised the man needed stitches, although he refused.
Nov. 6, 3900 E. Bay Drive, Publix, drivers license. A man was given a criminal citation for driving with a suspended license.
Nov. 7, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Beach, theft. The operator of the beach chair and umbrella rentals reported his bank bag stolen from his duffel bag shortly after he arrived at work. According to the report, the bank bag was in his possession when he opened in the morning, and was found to be missing approximately an hour later.
Nov. 8, 2200 block of Avenue C, Marchman Act. A man reported to be intoxicated and living in his vehicle was taken into custody under the Marchman Act.
Nov. 9, 3900 block of Manatee Avenue, DUI. Jacqueline Danzer, 56, of Anna Maria, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Nov. 10, 4200 block of Gulf Drive, drivers license. A woman was arrested for driving with a license suspended due to a previous alcohol violation.
Nov. 13, 100 block of 49th Street, criminal mischief. A man reported damage to his vehicle's trunk lock. According to the report, a suspect was seen by a neighbor attempting to break into the trunk, and the damage to the lock prevents the trunk from being opened.
Nov. 13, East Bay Drive and Gulf Drive, battery. A man was reportedly punched in the nose during a dispute with another driver stopped at the intersection. According to the report, the victim said that while stopped at a red light he exited his vehicle and approached the driver in the vehicle behind him who had allegedly been tailgating. The victim alleges that the other driver also exited his vehicle, rushed at him and punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed. During the assault, he said he fell to the road, injuring his head and breaking or dislocating two fingers.
Nov. 14, 8000 block of Gulf Drive, drivers license. A juvenile was issued a notice to appear for driving without a license and was issued a citation for improper parking.
Nov. 14, 611 Manatee Ave., Eckerd, burglary. A man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to enter an occupied vehicle. According to the report, the owner of a van was sleeping inside and awoke to find a man reaching into the vehicle through the partially opened window. The suspect was arrested for attempted burglary. |
