Jordan Sebastiano led Morgan Stanley with three goals, while Chandler Hardy added one goal in the loss.

Division II

Cannons Marina and Scott Lindsey Painting tied 2-2 on Oct. 25 as Cannons missed the chance to extend its lead in Division II. Garrison Clark and Hunter Parrish each scored a goal for Cannons, while Scott Lindsey Painting received two goals from Caleb Bell in the tie.

Danziger’s Destroyers rode a balanced offensive attack that saw three different players score in their Oct. 23 3-1 victory over Mike Norman Realty. Travis Belsito, JJ DeSouza and Samantha Latimore each notched goals for Danziger in the victory.

Jake Parsons scored the lone goal for Mike Norman Realty in the loss.

Hunter Parrish helped keep Cannons undefeated and in first place on Oct.  22 with three goals during its 3-1 victory over Danziger’s Destroyers. Travis Belsito notched the lone goal for Danziger in the loss.

Division III

Creative Tile missed out on a chance to make up ground on Autoway Ford as they battled Air & Energy to a 0-0 tie on Oct. 25.

Autoway Ford drove over West Coast Air Conditioning by a 7-0 score on Oct. 23 to help retain its slim lead in Division III. Natasha Nieckowski led the way with three goals, while Jackie Burgess added two goals. Sibella Glavin and Makayla Kane each added single goals for Autoway Ford in the victory.

Island Real Estate kept WCAC cold as it extended an unlucky run with a 1-0 victory on Oct. 22. Alex Salinas notched the game-winner for Island Real Estate, which pulled to within three points of first place with the victory.

Key Royale golf news

The men and women of Key Royale Club teamed up for a low-net tournament on Oct. 26. The team of Terry Westby, Rose Slomba, Jim Finn and Marian Mulroy combined to fire a 140 to win first place by four shots over the second-place team of Don Ledford, Bob Jorgensen, Al Gun and Patty Proxy. Al Gunn chipped one in on No. 4 to brighten his day.

The Key Royale men played a two-best-balls-of-foursome match on Oct. 24 with the team of John Heiselman, Al Morgan, Larry Fowler and Vince Mercadante combining to fire a 23-under-par 105 to lap the field by 14 strokes.

The team of Jim Thorton and John Heiselman combined to fire a 2-under-par 62 on Oct. 22 to earn clubhouse bragging rights for the day. Second place went to Don Ledford, Bob Jorgensen, Art Hobbs, Austin Rice and Ralph Bassett with scores of 1-over 65.

Horseshoe news

Rain dampened the turnout for the Oct. 24 horseshoe competition at the Anna Maria City Hall pits, but it didn’t deter some good competition. Steve Doyle and Ron Pepka defeated Debbie Rhodes and Herb Puryear 23-20 on a four-point play by Doyle that erased a 20-19 deficit.

The Oct. 20 horseshoe proceedings saw two-out-of-seven teams post undefeated pool-play records forcing a “winner-take-all” match between the teams of Norm Good and Steve Doyle and Hank Huyghe and Sam Samuels. Things looked good when Samuels opened the match with a double ringer, but Doyle and Huyghe poured it on for a 23-10 victory.

Play gets under way at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday at the Anna Maria City Hall pits. Warmups begin at 8:45 a.m. followed by random team selection. There is no charge to play and everyone is welcome.
